happy new year!!!

Let's see. I moved out the dorms and got home in Decatur. We went branch hunting and found a nice Christmas tree for about $20. Then I got a bunch of lights from walmart, about 900 for the tree. But the lights decided to not work out of the box, so I fixed them, used them and carried them back :) I did get a swiss army watch. It's pretty cool, especially the glow in the dark feature!!!

Then it was road tripping to New York. Left home at like 2am on Dec. 30th. Not even one hour into the trip I get a speeding ticket. It was unfair. I was turning off of I72 unto I57 to go to I74. Well the I57 stretch is really short, less than 2 miles, and there was this car right behind me, so I speed up, and it kept speeding up with me, not sure why it didn't go in the fast lane, and then when I turned off, it was flashing lights behind me. He had decided to pace me for a mile and give me a ticket. Think I'm going to go to court and plead not guilty and see what happens. Besides that the trip was lots of fun. I went to times square with an old friend from highschool and his girlfriend to bring in the new year :)... And then I went to Webster Hall on Friday night... yea I went clubbing up in new york city :) The place had a whole 4 floors of dancing and like 6 types of music going... If only I knew how to dance... Need to learn that somehow...

What was really cool, is my cousin goes to school at new york university so we got to stay in his dorm room on 5th Avenue. And according to him, Ben Stiller lives in a building across from him, and so does Sarah Jessica Parker...

And apparently I can't leave doing computer stuff at home. Had to install windows 2000 pro on my cousin's laptop for her before she went back to med school in Dominica.

Then it was the return trip home. We left like Sunday night to drop my Dad off in jfk airport. His flight got delayed because the airline couldn't find the pilot for the flight and Dad got to stay in the Radisson hotel, and then the flight left at like 6am in the morning. Went brooklyn after, saw my cousin before she left for Dominica, and then went to NJ and stayed at my uncle's place the night and left the next day and journeyed home!!! It was one long heck of a drive, took a good 14 hours or so. Oh well now I know to give myself more time to drive up that way...

I decided to put some audio in the car, because as good as the one in the car sounds, it gets really distorted when I want to listen to the music loud, and I didn't really like that. I got the amp, head unit, and the 2 pairs of speakers so far. I should be getting the box of wiring accessories today from fedex, and getting some interconnects from an ebay auction on wednesday from fedex again :)
